What is a Cataract?

During one's lifetime, the clear lens that each person is born with, slowly becomes cloudy and eventually will interfere with the vision.

The common symtoms are:

  • Cloudy or blurry vision

  • Colors seem faded

  • Poor night vision

  • Glare and halos around the lights

Treatment

There are no medications to reverse or cure cataracts. Sometimes glasses can help but the vision will progressively get worse with time. The only effective treatment is the replacement of the cloudy lens with a new clear lens (cataract surgery). Dr. Nazari uses modern and proven technology to implant a new lens. The new lens will restore your vision and, in most cases, will reduce the need for glasses.

Laser assisted Cataract Surgery and Lens Implants

The recent advances in cataract surgery has made cataract surgery safer and more precise.

  1. A Femtosecond laser is used to perform parts of the surgery which are very delicate and requires great precision. We use Ally laser system which is the most advanced laser system available today.

  2. The second great advance in cataract surgery is the new generation of lens implant that are used at the time of surgery to correct the vision. Not every patient is a candidate for the new lenses. During our comprehensive evaluation by our physicians in the office and discussions of the options, we will select a lens that is right for you.
