Kourosh Nazari, MD, FACS

 

Dr. Nazari is a Board Certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology. After graduating from North Miami Senior High, he attended Florida International University. He moved to Georgia and obtained his Medical Degree from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 1998. His ophthalmology training was completed at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which is consistently ranked as one of the top hospitals by US News and World Report.

 

Dr. Nazari's early interest in microscopic surgery led him to pursue a career in ophthalmology. During his training he focused on developing surgical skills to achieve superior results for his patients. In the years following his training Dr. Nazari has performed thousands of surgery including surgeries on patients with rare conditions and complex problems. He has traveled abroad and tutored surgeons overseas in performing cataract, Lasik and eyelid surgeries. During his travels, he has performed surgeries on patients with rare congenital diseases and complex traumatic injuries, such as burns and lacerations. He has trained doctors in Vietnam, China, Kenya, among others. He has lectured at national meetings and is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Central Florida School of Medicine. He has served as Medical Director in multiple surgery centers for more than 10 years. 

 

During his 18 years in practice, Dr. Nazari has performed more than 40000 successful eye surgeries. His practice is focused on eye surgery, such as cataract and Lasik. Like many skills in life, proficiency comes with meticulous attention to detail, desire to achieve exceptional results and repetition. His safety and visual results are superior to national published results.

 

His hobbies are traveling and writing and most importantly spending time with his family. He has written four books, Lessons from East and West, The Great Divide, The Resurgence, The Promise, An Introduction to History of Medicine. 

 

Above all he enjoys the practice of ophthalmology and taking care of patients.
